Where is the FLANTRISE Mall?
You may be quite curious about where on earth FLANTRISE Mall Building is. In fact, it isn't located anywhere "on earth". Instead, you may enter such a place by playing iLands, a totally free Facebook game that is like a simplified clone version of Minecraft, but one of the most significant feature of iLands is the fact that anyone can visit their Facebook friends' iLand world. Once you play this game and visit my iLand world (a.k.a. FlashTeens iLand), you can easily find it out, with a large signboard that reads "FLANTRISE".
About my iLand world (FlashTeens iLand)
I started playing iLands in late January, 2014, and have created a considerable amount of buildings, decorations, large underground zones, subway lines, etc. in the game. Welcome to my iLand world!! ^_^
How to become my iLand friend on Facebook
Since you can only visit the iLands of your friends on Facebook, It is required for you to become my Facebook friend before visiting the FLANTRISE Mall. I accept you as an iLand friend of mine only if your Facebook account matches at least one of the following conditions:
(applicable since Jul. 22, 2015)
- Visible in the Facebook group "ILands EXPERT Builders".
- Screenshots of your work can be easily seen in the official fan page iLands Community.
- Other demonstrations for the fact that you play iLands and have at least one building in your own world, no matter if it's beautiful or ugly.
Why do I build FLANTRISE?
iLands Screenshot Contests
To show my creativity for these art works, I often participate in iLands screenshot contests, held by the official fan page iLands Community monthly. The rule is quite simple: A participant just need to post a comment in the fan page's contest article with a screenshot of his/her own iLand world. The most beautiful and creative works officially chosen win the top 5, and all of the winners get Premium features without money.
With the Premium features, the players can not only fly throughout the entire world, but also get full access to all blocks in the inventory, providing a much easier way for building the world. Still, there is another way for anyone to get such advanced features — by spending 4 US dollars buying iLands Premium.
The Story: to show my creativity and ambitiousness
I participated all of the screenshot contests from June through December in 2014; however, none of my screenshots were successful. To show my creativity and ambitiousness, a large engineering project "Fight for 2015" is then started. Most of the old places in my world are either reconstructed or removed, whereas new buildings are created, too. Some of the significant works in my iLand world are built in this project, such as the FLANTRISE Mall, as well as Arrow Tower, Sky Cave, Rubber Duck, and 10+ bookstores throughout my iLand.
FLANTRISE Mall was originally built for a revival from the previous 7 failures in the screenshot contests, and then became the largest building structure ever on my iLand. The full name of FLANTRISE Mall is FlashTeens' Grand Mall of Lowell-Angelito-Nishi-Tsy-Rodrigo-Influenced Styles on the Eastern World. The styles on these friends' iLand worlds are the most special ones I had ever seen at the time, and most of them were the contest winners. I'm very grateful for their ideas, all of which have still been inspiring me to design much more creative art works.
With the project "Fight for 2015", I finally won the "ever first" official video contest by uploading a YouTube video for my iLand world, and thus successfully got the Premium features.
